Getting Started with Captionator

Welcome to Captionator! This tutorial walks you through the basics of getting started with our platform.

1. Create Your First Project

After signing in, click New Project on your dashboard. Give it a name and optional description. Projects are the primary way to organize your media.

2. Upload Your Media

Drag and drop images, videos, or PDFs into your project. Captionator automatically detects the file type, generates thumbnails, and extracts metadata.

3. Generate AI Captions

Select one or more images and click Caption. Choose your preferred model (JoyCaption for training data, GPT-4o for natural language descriptions) and captioning style.

4. Review and Export

Review generated captions in the Media Editor. Edit as needed, then export your dataset in JSONL, CSV, or text-per-image format.
